ORLANDO, FL Yellow Mustang Show! 3/20/04
Early morning cruise to the show, waiting at the light 60 yellow Mustangs on display at the Orlando YMR Show
Our recent visit to Orlando was an impressive YMR show to say the least. With 60 yellow Mustangs participating, and a week full of YMR activities, this was the largest show to date. We tried something different this time, and we were able to assemble a schedule of events to give everyone a chance to meet in the days before the Saturday show kicked off the grande finale. This show proved once again, that yellow Mustang owners are like long lost friends. It couldn't be said any better than the phrase coined by Clark Spencer, "It is not the color of the car that makes these people friends...they were family before we met".
Because many members were coming down early as part of their vacations, a few activities were setup before the show day to hang out and get to know one another. There was a day for going to DisneyWorld, an outing at the local dragstrip (Orlando Speedworld), several evening dinners, and a huge tailgating cookout in the hotel parking lot Friday night. You'll see photos below from these events. Everybody that attended seemed to have a great time!

We had the longest distance driver of all time, Clark & Shelly Spencer, from Phoenix, AZ drive over 2200 miles one-way to reach this YMR show. We gave out long distance awards to the top 6 drivers to reward them for their dedication.

All the blood, sweat, and tears that went into the show, was wiped away on Saturday morning during the 36 car caravan to the show. It was a record YMR caravan in one cruise session and was one of the big highlights of the week for everybody. We had to drive through 2 toll stations, so we let the lead car pay for the tolls of all cars in our caravan, so we could just drive straight through. This alone was an experience not to be forgotten by anyone that was there.

The Cruisers For Kids charity show went flawlessly. They were so well organized, we plan to do the same event with them next year. All kinds of amazing cars where there from classics, to trucks, to new Vipers. It gave a little variety to the show if you were beginning to get blinded by the yellow reflections! There were some amazing yellow Mustangs there as well, and we even had 5.0 Magazine's "3G GT" project car there as well.

Following the show, we headed over to Hooters to get some food and relax from all the activities. We took some glamour shots of the Hooters girls on the cars, and some members headed home from there, or cruised back to the hotel together in mini-caravans.

There are hundreds more photos and stories but instead of displaying them all here, you can visit our special Orlando Event Forum dedicated to this event on our messageboard.
